Entomologist - U.S. Department of Agriculture
This position is located in the Office of Pest Management (OPMP), Office of the Administrator (OA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS) in Washington, DC.  OPMP's mission is to integrate and coordinate the pest management efforts of the Department;  Provide data and analyses to EPA to better inform pesticide regulatory decisions and;  Provide a Departmental focal point for farmers, grower organizations, EPA, State Land Grant Institutions and other relevant groups regarding pesticide and pest management issues.  The incumbent analyzes and evaluates pest management practices and related scientific information relative to insect pest control measures.  Serves as liaison with EPA regulatory and scientific staff, USDA staff, research and support staffs at Land grant institutions, and industry scientists involved in pest management issues.   Gathers data and analyses on pesticide use and usage, alternatives and impacts.  Provides entomological expertise and guidance in the development of policies and procedures concerning the application and use of pesticides, cropping practices, data collection and state of the art pest management practices.  Provides technical direction and leadership on pesticides with complex issues of national and international significance.  More.

National Coordinator - School IPM 2015
National coordinator position available with independent non-profit organization working to reduce pest and pesticide hazards in agriculture and communities through Integrated Pest Management (IPM).   This is an excellent opportunity for a highly-motivated individual to regularly interact with leading professionals representing schools, Cooperative Extension, university research, federal and state agencies, and non-governmental organizations nationwide. Selected candidate will coordinate the team implementing the School IPM 2015 Strategic Plan ( www.schoolipm2015.com ), a national initiative to establish high-level IPM in all U.S. public schools by the year 2015.  Primary responsibility will be coordinating activities of multiple partners to meet the full implementation goal. Duties include: 1) maintaining and implementing the strategic plan; 2) organizing and leading conference calls and meetings for the national school IPM steering committee and North Central region working group; 3) producing support materials and project reports; 4) assisting regional working group leads with implementation; 5) working with a programmer to develop and implement a new online metrics reporting system; and 6) coordinating activities of volunteer committees. Assistant Professor - LSU Extension - Department of Entomology
Tenure track position with 100% Extension, with statewide responsibilities. The assistant professor will be responsible for the development and implementation of research based educational and extension programs related to integrated pest management (IPM) of arthropods. He/She will be required to keep abreast of and disseminate information on pesticide-related regulations and policy, work on pesticide assessment, and develop arthropod management guidelines. Will work cooperatively with field agents, extension faculty and researchers in IPM programs and will assist field agents with educational programs for farmers, nurserymen and beekeepers in these areas. He/she will work with the pesticide industry and agricultural consultants to keep them informed of recommended pest management practices and will maintain and work effectively with advisory committees in the program development process in areas of assignment. Organic Conservation Specialist - Oregon Tilth
In partnership with the USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS), Oregon Tilth is hiring a shared national position to develop new technical information and deliver training that will allow NRCS conservation planners to assist owners and managers of private working lands to make management decisions to enhance resource conservation on organic agricultural production systems. The position will be an Oregon Tilth employee and based at the NRCS West National Technology Support Center (NTSC) in Portland, OR for a two-year term. Kansas Center for Agricultural Resources and the Environment (KCARE) Director - Kansas State University
The KCARE Director is expected to build collaborative teams, both on campus and externally, with local, state and federal agencies and organizations. Activities include, but are not limited to: 1) organize teams of collaborators to give leadership to the environmental research and extension initiatives; 2) identify and develop external human and financial resources to support the work towards focused areas of emphasis; 3) promote environmental science and educational outreach programs targeted to agricultural and agribusiness interests, local, state, and federal agencies, organizations and foundations; 4) create and utilize appropriate advisory teams to guide further development of the research and outreach programs through KCARE; 5) create professional development opportunities for target audiences around the environmental sciences; 6) focus research and outreach programming on urban, rural/urban interface, and non-agriculturally related land use practices and their effects on air, water, and soil quality, conservation, and protection; 7) coordinate the activities of the Kansas Water Resources Institute; and 8) the office of the KCARE director is the primary Kansas State University contact for all state and federal agencies related to agricultural resources and the environment. Postdoctoral Research Associate - USDA Agricultural Research Service
The Agricultural Research Service (ARS) is the United States Department of Agriculture's chief scientific research agency. ARS Postdoctoral Research Associates are hired to supplement a lead scientist's research on agricultural problems of high national priority affecting American agriculture. The incumbent will conduct field and laboratory studies directed at enhancing the efficacy of blue orchard bees as orchard crop pollinators, specifically as almond pollinators.  Travel to California for collaborator meetings and to perform extended periods of study is required. This position requires a Ph.D in entomology, biology, ecology, or a related field of study.  Knowledge of solitary bee biology, insect behavior, toxicology, and crop production systems is desired. Researcher (Plant Pathologist) - American Samoa Community College

The researcher will plan, conduct, analyze, and publish plant pathology research, approved by a merit review panel, that focuses on an integrated approach to protect sustainable production of taro, banana, and other tropical crops. S/he will purchase, operate, and maintain pertinent laboratory and field equipment and supplies. S/he will develop and teach college-level courses in plant protection and plant sciences, serve as a resource person for the Cooperative Extension Service (CES), and possibly train and supervise assistants and students. S/he will oversee the plant tissue culture laboratory, the research greenhouse, and supervise their staff. More.

IPM in Health Care Facilities and Community Outreach Project Consultant - Maryland Pesticide Network and Beyond Pesticides
The Maryland Pesticide Network and national project partner organization Beyond Pesticides are seeking a project consultant for the IPM in Health Care Facilities and Community Outreach Project. The project consultant will work with Maryland health care facilities to implement IPM and with local government agencies and community groups to encourage and facilitate transition to pesticide-free environments.
