Plan Updates
School IPM 2015 is a living document that will be updated periodically. As new and updated content is developed, it will be posted here and then incorporated in new editions of the plan housed at http://www.ipmcenters.org/pmsp/pdf/USschoolsPMSP.pdf .

At the National School IPM Working Group meeting in Reno, NV on 11-20-08, the 2009 objectives were expanded and clarified.
Progress Report
The following objectives are included in pest management strategic plan for school IPM, School IPM 2015.
This table will be updated as progress is made towards each objective and as more detail and other updates are developed.

| Form a national working group to coordinate implementation of the school IPM PMSP in cooperation with working groups in each IPM Center region. |
The National School IPM Working Group is comprised of the regional school working group members and volunteers. The steering committee had its first meeting in Reno, NV on November 20, 2008 and continues to have monthly conference calls. Several stakeholder committees are currently in progress, including regulatory and outreach. Other committees are currently being formed - more info here. |
| Develop funding for years 1-3 of plan implementation. |
The PMSP is funded through 2010 in part by a grant from the US EPA. Additional funding is provided by the USDA Regional IPM Centers. Additional funding is being sought and contributions are welcome. |
| Hire full time coordinator to work under direction of national working group steering committee. |
Zach Bruns is the full-time School IPM Project Coordinator. He is located in Madison, WI at the office of the IPM Institute of North America. |
| Form and fund school IPM working groups for Northeast and North Central USDA IPM Center regions to complement existing Southern and Western groups. |
All four regions now have school IPM working groups. |
| Organize and hold national training opportunity for change agents. |
The National Change Agent Practicum was held in Denver, CO October 15-17 2008. Agenda and presentations can be found online. |
| Review school IPM websites for each state and request updates of any outdated information. |
A list of primary state websites has been compiled. |
| Create model maintenance and sanitation specifications that reflect high level IPM. |

| Negotiate an acceptable version of the School Environmental Protection Act. |
The regulatory committee is currently compiling a list of comments on the bill. |
| Initiate demonstrations in five new states. |
In 2009, six new demonstrations were implemented. |
| Initiate coalitions in five new states that have had demonstrations in the past. |

Six demonstration projects were implemented in 2009:
North Central region: Brookings, SD and Flandreau, SD.
Northeastern region: Exeter, NH and Chariho, RI.
Southern region: Ascension Parish, LA.
Western region: Salem-Keizer, OR. |
| Create IPM committees in 15% of school-related organizations. |

| Develop IPM sessions at annual meetings for 15% of school-related organizations. |
In 2009, IPM presentations were held at seven meetings, or about 19% of national school related organizations. |
| Place IPM articles in publications for 15% of school-related organizations. |
In 2009, four IPM articles were placed in publications of school-related organizations, or about 11% of national school related organizations. Altogether, fifteen articles about the School IPM 2015 plan were published (including those in newspapers, magazines and trade journals). |
| Initiate coalitions in five new states that have had demonstrations in the past. |
Nine coalitions were initiated in 2009:
North Central region: MO, NE, IL.
Northeastern region: NY, PA.
Southern region: NC, AL.
Western region: CO, WA. |

The IPM Institute sent out a press release on 1-7-09, when the plan was officially released. Comments have been collected and recorded. The second version of the plan is scheduled for release in April 2010. |
