alternatives are available for fire ants.

following products violate our criteria for pesticides used outdoors due
to toxicity to fish and/or other aquatic organisms. If less toxic
alternatives are not adequate, consider applying these to fire ant mounds
as per label instructions, or when or where contamination of surface water
